Manali—Leh—Manali Bike Tour
Season – June to Sept
Manali–Leh road is a beautiful terrain full of adventure and scenic beauty. Dangerous, deadliest and most definitely beautiful, this road connects Leh in Ladakh to Manali. On this road one experiences pure and complete pleasure taking the challenges of the twists and turns, riding his Royal Enfield motorcycle through the stunning landscape of the Trance Himalayas. On this road, one goes through varied forms of nature ranging from beautiful lush green valley of Manali to rocky barren multi coloured mountains of trance Himalaya. While on this bike safari one will cross several of the highest and most beautiful mountain passes in India–the Rohtang pass-3978 meters; Baralacha pass–4830 meters; Lachungla pass-5060 meters and the highest motor-able pass in the world the Khardungla pass–5602 meters.
DAY 1:- Checking and riding your bike around Manali
A short briefing on the Motorcycle Tour around 10 AM. After a quick review of road safety precautions and checking personal equipment, you will start out on the narrow side roads into the mountains. This will make you acquainted with your bike and get to know the mountain roads. Night in hotel at manali.
Day 2:- Manali to Keylong or Jispa, 135kms 6-7 hours including the Rohtang pass (3900 m)
The actual journey starts today, first you zigzag up to the Rothang pass (13050ft) and then zigzag down to Khoksar in Chandra valley in Lahoul. On reaching at Tandi you turn east wards into Bhaga valley leaving behind Chandra valley. Then through Keylong, the district headqurter of Lahoul, you reach at Jispa for overnight stay there.
Day 3- Jispa to Pang (155 km)
Today, you will be leaving for the next destination, Pang. When you leave from Jispa, you will enter the Greater Himalayan landscape. While you are on this route, you will see that the mountains are bigger on this part of the highway. Enjoy the view and later cross the Baralachha Pass (5000 meters). From there, head towards Sarchu which forms the border line between Kashmir and Himachal. From there, reach the Pang camp. In pang you will stay in Simple Tent . All the group will stay in one sharing tent it is very basic tented Accommodation.
Day 4- Pang to Leh (160 km)
You will have to bike through flatlands and get into the mountain-range-horizon. Cross the Tanglang-La Pass which is the second-highest motorable mountain pass in the world at the height of 5300 meters. After crossing this pass, you will have to bike through well-maintained roads all the way to Leh. En-route you will get to see the monasteries of Thiksey and Shey which are set on the top of a hill. Check-in at the hotel .
Day 5 -Leh to Khardungla and back to Leh-
An excursion to Khardung Pass! The Pass lies on Ladakh mountain range and is gateway to Nubra and Shyoak valley. The elevation of pass is 5602 m. This is considered the world’s highest motor-able road. By afternoon you come back to Leh and you have free time to explore market.
Day 6- Leh – Pangong Lake (150 km)
Pay a visit to the Pangong Lake which is the largest brackish water lake in Asia. The 2/3rd portion of the lake lies in China. After this visit, you will cross the Chang La (5500 meters) and go forward to an army checkpoint at Tangse. Have a comfortable stay at night in the resort.
Day 7- Pangong – Leh (150 km)
Have your breakfast early in the morning and get ready to head towards Leh. This will be the last day at Leh, so explore Leh the whole day. Shop at bazaars and visit the Shanti Stupa which is a Buddhist white-dome huge structure which overlooks Changspa. Enjoy a great view of the Indus Valley and the Zanskar range and go colder to nature.
Day 8- Leh – Sarchu (215 km)
This day, you will get back to the biking track through which you reached Leh. En-route, you will see Pang and ride through to reach Sarchu. Sarchu lies in the middle of the two beautiful destinations, Manali and Leh. Have a comfortable stay at night in the camp.
Day 9- Sarchu – Manali (ride 215 km)
In the morning, drive through the Sarchu plain and reach the Baralaccha plain till noon. Enjoy a smooth ride up the Lahaul ranges and reach Rohtang pass. Rohtang pass will come with a number of challenges with mini-rivers of mud. Have a comfortable stay at the hotel in Manali.
Day 10 -Departure to Own Destination
Check out from the Hotel before 12.00 Noon. Transfer to bus stand.
Cost of the Trek –
Rs. 32000/- per person for a group of minimum 10 persons (two person share one bike)
Rs 42000/- per person for a group of minimum 10 person (one bike for one person)
If you opt for single room/tent – Extra Charge: – Rs. 11000/-
